Brice Simon, Esq. was born in Burlington, Vermont.
Attorney Simon has engaged in the general practice of law since 2000. Attorney Simon began his practice as a litigation associate in Rutland, Vermont, and came to Stowe to focus on property-related litigation, environmental law, real estate and criminal defense. His practice has grown to include corporate and LLC formations and maintenance, complex civil litigation including personal injury and worker's compensation, and all aspects of land use and real estate law. Attorney Simon has tried numerous criminal and civil cases, handles appeals to the Vermont Supreme Court, has successfully challenged a Zoning Board decision in Environmental Court, participated in administrative actions, and assisted with a legislative initiative to simplify the permitting process for hydro-electric facilities in Vermont.
In addition to an education including St. Johnsbury Academy, University of New Hampshire and Vermont Law School, Mr. Simon has lived throughout the state including in Putney, Cabot, Plainfield, Peacham, St. Johnsbury, Sharon, Berlin, Hyde Park and Morrisville. He served on the Sharon Planning Commission, as chair of the Lamoille Economic Development Corporation Board of Directors, as a member of the Lamoille County Planning Commission Board of Directors, was a founding director of the Green Mountain Kids After School Program, Inc., chaired the Vermont River Conservancy Board of Directors for two years, and is served as the President of the Stowe Rotary Club. An intimate knowledge of Vermont informs Brice's understanding of and engagement with Act 250 policy and procedure, municipal entities, the legislative process, rulemaking, quasi-judicial administrative hearings, judicial and administrative court operations, and the appropriate use of litigation, alternative dispute resolution, risk and litigation prevention, entity selection, transaction monitoring and execution, stakeholder processes and other available methods of influencing outcomes and facilitating the movement of capital.
